Q: What does ‘timestamp invalid’ mean in the Verify Catalog tool?
A: Every catalog item managed in the Central Catalog is given a timestamp indicating when it was last submitted for inclusion in the Central Catalog. This is what is checked to see if a design is up to date.
When a user becomes an editor and edits a catalog item* then its timestamp is deliberately invalidated to indicate that it is edited.
When the user submits edited items then a new timestamp is generated and it will henceforth be reported as ‘pending’ until the administrator integrates the submitted item.
* Just opening a catalog shape for editing is considered an edit. Viewing properties is not though.
